For my Freshman year in Memorial High School in West New York. I have done many projects in Ronald Grosinger's class of Introduction to Engineering that has taught me many things and that were very exciting to work on and learn. Many of the projects had to do with electricity and magnets which I found very enjoyable.
- Learning how to solder was fun and easy
Learning how to solder has been very enjoyable since it opens many opportunities for me to learn about electricity and how to fix my broken devices.
- Learning about the drill
The drill was something I never used before but I was able to figure out things very quick and easily and feel that people need to learn basic tools like the drill since it can help with more then just making holes.
- The minister motor we made was fun for a little demonstration
The miniature motor was very enjoyable since it put science and the work of magnets and electricity into play.
- The drawings of the motors
The drawings were very useful since I already new how an engine looked like inside and all the components but this assignment was very useful for starters in drawing and engines.
- Tap and Die sets
The tap and die set is something I found very important to learn since it provides a helping hand in tools and building since it creates opportunities to creating perfect measurements and creating screws for specific jobs.
- Shear, Brake, & Roll

The combination of the shear, brake, and roll is something very useful I'm very glad to have learned the proper way to use the machine from the class and make many different things with each part.
- Making the galvanometer
The assignment to create a battery tester or a galvanometer from house hold materials which are easily found anywhere. I had an easy time making the galvanometer and I found that I worked when I used the batteries I had to measure how many volts it had.
- How to use tools for finding voltage
In the begging of the year, we did an assignment on batteries and I found that very useful since we used a volt meter to measure the voltage that came from the Pennis we used to create a battery.
- We learned about spot welding
After learning about shears, we learned about spot welding two pieces of aluminum to create a piece that's very difficult to pull apart.
- Riveting was very cool and a basic way to join things together
We used riveting to join to pieces of metal which was very basic and effective to use. The class was very useful since I don't have all these tools at home and since I know what kinds of tools work on what kinds of materials, and I might have to use these tools in the future.
Here is a video of what I thought of the class
